A 50-year-old man turned himself into police Monday, saying that he tried to rob a midtown bank last year, authorities said.
Kevin Everhart was arrested on one count of attempted robbery, a class five felony, and booked into the Pima County jail, according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department.
Everhart is being held in jail on a $7,500 bond, jail records show.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on July 7, 2016, a man entered the Bank of America located at 2885 North Campbell Avenue and handed the teller a note demanding money. He left the bank and fled on a beach cruiser style bicycle. No one was injured during the incident.
At the time of the attempted robbery, Everhart was disguised in a tan fisherman style hat, black sunglasses and a blue windbreaker.
Over the last year, Tucson police followed up on multiple leads in the case, the news release said.
