With year-round sunshine and beautiful scenery, it's no wonder so many Tucsonans choose to marry in-town, rather than plan a destination wedding.
But locals could be seeing more competition for venues, DJs and caterers, since Wallethub just revealed that Tucson is the 14th best place in the country to get married.
Wallethub compared more than 180 of the country's biggest cities across 23 indicators of cost-effectiveness, convenience and enjoyment. With a total score of 57.50, Tucson also ranked 14th in terms of cost and 12th for "activities and attractions."
Here's how Tucson ranked in some of the categories. (Keep in mind the following scale: 1 is best and 91 is average.)
46th – Average wedding cost
81st – Wedding chapels and churches per capita
47th – Bridal shops per capita
42nd – Flower shops per capita
60th – Venues and event spaces per capita
18th – Number of attractions
33rd – Hotels per capita
70th – Musicians and DJs per capita
78th – Videographers and photographers per capita
