Tucson police detectives have arrested a man in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed a woman walking across East Broadway on Jan. 26.
Byron Horton, 43, was arrested and is facing charges of hit and run involving a death. He was booked into the Pima County Jail.
The woman, identified as 65-year-old Sook Ja Park, was crossing Broadway near South Gollob Road just after midnight on her way to a friendโs house when she was struck by a SUV, witnesses told investigators.
Detectives later received a tip from the public about a possible suspect and vehicle involved in the crash. Detectives found a silver 2016 Dodge Journey owned by Horton at a local auto body shop that had damage consistent with the collision, Tucson police said in a news release Monday.
Horton was located and arrested without incident.
