If you felt warm, that is because it is warm. On Friday, it hit 92 degrees at Tucson International Airport at 3:28 p.m., says the National Weather Service.
This is almost 20 degrees above normal, said Glenn Lader, a weather service meteorologist.
The average first 90 degree day is April 9.
The record high on March 10 was 97 degrees set in 1989. The all time high was 99 degrees for the month of March in 1988, said Lader.
"An unusual strong high pressure for this time of year in the Southwest is resulting in the well-above normal temperatures," Lader said.
Friday's low was 53 degrees set at 7:03 a.m.
