The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association’s Home and Garden Show aims to give you home tips, make you laugh and gussy up your yard.
The three-day show, opening Friday, Oct. 5, has more than 300 exhibitors who can help with everything from doors to floors to pets.
In addition, there is a packed program for attendees.
Among the events at the show:
- Rosie Romero, whose home-improvement columns run in the Star, will do his “Rosie on the House” radio broadcast live from the show 7-11 a.m. Oct. 6.
- Harlow Gardens will have a designer you can chat with at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 5, 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6, and 11:30 and 3 p.m. Oct. 7.
- Animal experts will tell you how to do everything from snake-proof your yard to rodent control at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 5; 1:30 and 4 p.m. Oct. 6, and noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 7.
- Star cartoonist David Fitzsimmons will whip up some character drawings with proceeds going to Ben’s Bells. 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
The SAHBA Home & Garden Show is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 5 and 6, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 7. It’s at the Tucson Convention Center, 160 S. Church Ave. Admission is $8, with discounts available. More information at 795-3025 or sahbahomeshow.com.
