Tucson Unified School District is hosting its annual African American Parent Conference on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Palo Verde High Magnet School.
The free conference takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school's auditorium, 1302 S. Avenida Vega.
Parents will learn the tools to "become the best advocate for your child or grandchild," the district said.
Adolph "Doc" Brown will be the keynote speaker with a special presentation at 9 a.m., followed by workshops for all students.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the event.
