U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema spoke on the Senate floor Thursday, saying she supports upholding the current filibuster rules Democrats are proposing changes to in order to pass voting rights laws.
The Democratic senator from Arizona said she would not support changes to the 60-vote requirement, which would "worsen the underlying disease of division infecting our country."Β
Sinema's speech came just before President Biden was scheduled to speak with Democrats about working to change Senate rules to help get new voting legislation through Congress. Video courtesy of the Office of Kyrsten Sinema.
