It’s technically fall, but triple-digit temperatures are creeping back in.
The National Weather Service is forecasting summer-like conditions returning Tuesday through Sunday.
High temps are expected to peak around 103 to 106 in the warmest desert locations from Tucson westward, NWS said Monday.

Some areas will experience near record to record daily highs.
Here’s a look at the forecasted highs for the week:
- Tuesday, Sept. 24: 100 in Tucson, 102 in Marana
- Wednesday, Sept. 25: 103 in Tucson , 100 in Green Valley, 104 in Marana
- Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27: 104 in Tucson, 101 in Green Valley, 105 in Marana
- Saturday, Sept. 28: 103 in Tucson, 101 in Green Valley, 104 in Marana
- Sunday, Sept. 28: 102 in Tucson, 100 in Green Valley, 103 in Marana
Highs above 104 this week are expected in Ajo (which will see temps hit 105 and 106 ), Gila Bend (could reach 110 on Wednesday), and Phoenix, where the high is forecasted to top out at 107.
Despite the reappearance of triple digits, morning lows are expected to be in the 70s on Tucson’s west side and 60s in the east this week — 10 degrees cooler than the summer months lows but a few degrees above seasonal morning lows in late September.
