In case you've ever found yourself thinking that there's nothing to do in Tucson, one website is ready to remind you that you're wrong.
In fact, there's so much to do in Tucson that WalletHub's analysts have determined that it's the 26th most fun city in the U.S., based on a survey of the 150 most populated cities.
WalletHub used three key dimensions to make their determination: Entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties, and costs.
The website evaluated each of the three dimensions using 58 metrics, each of which were weighted differently. Metrics included per capita rankings of everything from coffee shops to hiking trails to marinas, legality of public drinking, average beer price and something called a "dance party index."
All things considered (especially given that Tucson doesn't have a marina, amusement park or any professional sports team) our city fared very well.
To provide some perspective, Las Vegas came it an number one on the list, with a total score of 68.25. At 26th, Tucson's score was 45.29 and the 150th fun city on the list, Oxnard, California, had a score of just 21.61.
For the three dimensions, Tucson's score was 27 for entertainment and recreation, 29 for nightlife and parties and 14 for cost.
