The westbound Interstate 10 ramp to westbound Interstate 8 near Casa Grande will be closed for about two months beginning Monday for an improvements project.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said westbound I-10 drivers who want to access westbound I-8 will detour at Jimmie Kerr Boulevard, then use eastbound I-10 to access westbound I-8.

The westbound ramp is scheduled to reopen by late February as crews complete bridge and drainage improvements near the I-8/I-10 junction.

There also will be nightly lane restrictions on I-10 in both directions in the area because of the construction work.

The wider $7.3-million project to improve I-8 is to be completed by summer 2016.
