Wes Seward is a district investigator for Montanaโs Department of Livestock, a state agency with a history that reaches back to before the stateโs formation with a mission to ensure law and order within the stateโs expansive ranching industry.
The department serves as the inspiration for whatโs known as the Montana Livestock Administration on Paramount Network's hit show "Yellowstone," which stars Kevin Costner as rancher and livestock agent John Dutton. While the Duttons use the fictional Montana Livestock Administration to bend the law to protect their wealth, Seward sees his real-life role with the state livestock department in a different light.
