Members of the Northwest Fire District rescued a driver after he tried to cross a wash on West Ina Road near North Camino de los Caballos this morning, according to Capt Brian Keeley in a news release.

Units arrived at the scene after the district receiving a call at 3:45 am and found a man in his 20s sitting on top of his sports utility vehicle about 20 feet downstream from the road, Keeley said.

The water had already started to recede allowing the crews to safely enter the water and help the driver. He was not injured and medical treatment was not needed.

At the time of the incident there were no barricades in place but officials want to warn drivers to exercise caution on days there are heavy rains.
