In response to "Tucson council OKs cellphone ban while driving, but as a secondary offense" because Council woman Regina Romero:

"Voiced concerns about racial profiling, saying studies have shown blacks and Latinos are more likely to be pulled over for exhibiting the same behavior as white people."

Has Council woman Romero ever seen someone driving while texting or in anyway handling a cell phone? I think that most of us have observed the erratic movements that are a danger to other drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and to themselves. This issue is all about safety on our city streets. The discussion should not be about racial profiling . I am a bicyclist and I am always fearful of drivers that might be texting and won't see me. Hopefully, no serious injuries will occur before the council revisits this issue in the future. Texting and driving are not compatible.
