Letter: Church is doing its part to help those in need

Re: the May 31 guest opinion "Center for homeless women a victim of compassion fatigue."

Thanks to author Stephen Paul for mentioning St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church as feeding the hungry in the past. Please allow us to let all know what we do to feed the hungry in the present.

Last year we gave food bags to 1,096 people at our church office. Unfortunately this was an all-time record. Every four weeks we make 500 lunches for Casa Maria. Monthly we send a team to Primavera Shelter to make dinner for 100 homeless men. Annually we cook lunch for Tihan's Poz Café for people with Aids/HIV.
