RE: the Nov. 15 story "Say No to Monsanto in Tucson"

Environmentalists such as Mr. Elias are ignorant about repudiating science that validates the safety and healthfulness of GMO foods and plants. Ironically, the environmental benefit of GMO crops in 2014 was “equivalent to removing nearly 10 million cars from the roads”, as calculated by two British researchers. Not having to run tractors to spray pesticides on GMO crops accounted for this benefit. Dramatic worldwide reductions in volumes of pesticides, increased yields and increased profitability for farmers have all resulted from GMO crops.
