Re: the Jan. 5 article "Tucson to announce changes to help business community"ย

I was not surprised to read this headline. As a resident who follows city of Tucson government issues, I continually hear the city defined as "anti-business" by vested interests.

Just as we saw in the recent presidential election, repeat a charge often enough, many people will believe it. That makes the charge a myth; it does not make it truth. Even when facts dispute the myth, the label remains.

I urge everyone to look around. New policies, new development, new businesses abound. Tucson today is not "anti-business."

I urge city critics to update their perspective. Join concerned residents in promoting a broader agenda. The city of Tucson is more than business. It is awesome mountain views, a wonderfully diverse culture, a half million residents, a unique lifestyle, and yes, unresolved problems.

We all need to work together to solve those problems. Forget "anti-business." Let's focus on "community-positive."
