I'm hoping the Star made a mistake. It quoted County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry as stating that candidate for sheriff Terry Staten was put on leave from his job because he would likely have an adverse effect on the operation of the sheriff's department. In other words, not for anything he did, but instead for something he might do. Could this be right? I don't know one candidate from the other, but this doesn't seem fair.
