Re: Rio Nuevo will spend $3.2 million to get arena ready for pro hockey. Arizona Coyotes one step closer to bringing an AHL team to Tucson.

Amanda Hunziker: Pro hockey at Tucson Convention Center has got to fare better than pro baseball did at Kino Sports Complex. There are actual restaurants and shops downtown. Rather than just a hospital, Juvenile Court, In-N-Out and a Burger King.

Mike Cicala: I live on the east side and would drive for some hockey.

Ruben Araza: This is just pandering to our friends from the north. They tried the same thing in Yuma a few years back. Flopped during the summer and could not pay the bills.

Matthew Daughtery: I figure we will get 50 games out of them before they go elsewhere, so it’s going to cost us $64,000 a game.

Charlie Touseull: Haters gonna hate, while skaters gonna skate. I’m excited for pro hockey in the Old Pueblo.
