Dear Editor,

I have a plethora of issues with Tucson Electric Powerโ€™s proposed charges on new solar users. I'm opposed to this plan because it's going to charge new solar customers $25-30 per month extra, which makes no sense because solar actually holds a lot of valuable things like, being 100% renewable and being diverse in its applications. Another issue I have is that TEP is not considering the benefits to the grid power that solar energy gives. Individual rooftop solar units benefit all Arizonans, it increases energy security and reliability, and reduces other utility spending. In the end, it actually helps TEP meet its power requirements. As a firm believer in solar energy and a resident of Tucson, this proposed plan greatly concerns me. By adding these new charges, TEP is de-incentivizing going solar. I hope the Corporation Commission listens to the people of Tucson and votes no on these ridiculous charges.
