PHOENIX — A man is jailed on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a man up to 30 times at a bus stop, Phoenix police say.
Michael Angelo Smith 30, is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Police didn't list a possible motive for the incident early Sunday.
It was unclear Monday if Smith has a lawyer yet.
Witnesses told police that the victim was stabbed repeatedly before Phoenix Fire Department responders were able to stop the attack.
Police say the man was stabbed in the neck, back and side and was hospitalized in serious condition.
His name and age weren't immediately released.
Court documents show Smith used a six-inch folding knife and it was bent backward because of the force used to stab the victim.
