Police Sirens

PHOENIX — A 13-year-old boy who is a neighbor of a 13-year-old girl is accused of attempted homicide after she was repeatedly stabbed at her home, Phoenix police say.

The girl was able to get away and run for help after being stabbed Tuesday and that the boy was taken into custody without incident, Sgt. Tommy Thompson says.

No identities were released but Thompson said the boy and girl had known each other for years and that investigators believe the boy went to the girl's home to kill her.

Thompson said the boy was detained at a juvenile court center.
