PHOENIX — A man and woman have been arrested for allegedly posing as Phoenix utility workers and trying to rob an elderly couple at their home.
Phoenix police say 28-year-old Bisono Ely and 25-year-old Savanna Wesley have been booked into jail on multiple counts of burglary, criminal impersonation to gain access, giving false information to law enforcement and child abuse.
They say a 76-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man told police Ely was wearing a construction-style safety vest when he knocked on their front door.
Ely told the couple he was a city water department employee and needed to check the home's water.
They say Ely was accompanied by a child who walked around the house picking up jewelry and other items.
Ely and Wesley were arrested after the victims called authorities.
