An earlier version of this story mistakenly said the hit and run crash caused a power outage. The hit and run crash was a separate incident from the crash that caused a power outage. The crashes happened around the same time and near each other.

A car crash caused a power outage on Tucson's south side Friday night, police said.

A vehicle hit a pole at East Irvington Road and South Mountain Avenue, causing a power outage that affected the intersection of Irvington Road and South Park Avenue and the surrounding area.

Officers directed traffic at the Irvington Road and Park Avenue intersection with traffic backed up.

A separate collision involving a truck and pedestrian occurred on East Irvington Road, near South Park Avenue, said Tucson police spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan. The crash resulted in “life-threatening” injuries.

Irvington Road was closed to traffic from Park Avenue to Campbell Avenue, according to police.

Police are still investigating the incident. No further details have been released.
