Arizona Proposition 139 claims to be a benefit for women’s health care. The reality is that this is a lie, and no new proposition is needed for abortion.

Arizona law already permits abortion through 15 weeks of pregnancy or later if the mother or baby’s life is being threatened.

Proposition 139 puts the mother at risk of serious medical complications and even death from a late-term abortion. A doctor is no longer required, as other health advisors are allowed to care for the patient.

Parental rights are eliminated for medical care of a child under 18 years old. This proposition would change the law to allow a baby to be killed up to the day of delivery if an abortion failed to terminate the baby’s life earlier. So, if a baby is born despite the abortion, his or her life could be terminated at birth. This is infanticide.

Life begins at conception. Without conception, no one would ever be born. God’s opinion about the value of human life is expressed in Psalm 139. God says that each of us was created by Him and are valuable and precious to Him.

Psalm 139 says, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous — how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God, they cannot be numbered.”

God is being mocked by naming this proposition 139, when the sanctity of life is being honored in Psalm 139.

Protect women’s health and the live birth of a baby born despite an abortion that fails. Let us not allow this evil proposition to be allowed. It is dangerous to the health and well-being of our wives and mothers. Vote no on Proposition 139.
