College is for the purpose of obtaining an education that would enable one to qualify for a career. If a student also has athletic talent, fine, but the student must spend at least three years in order to become eligible for a scholarship. Athletes who want to go to college in order to become mature and enter an NBA draft might consider playing in Europe.
The U of A might want to consider leaving the Pac-12, applying for membership in a more academically oriented conference. Wish we could return to "bear down gym" days.
