Biden blamed for Harris loss
The Associated Press article by Aamer Madhani states that if Biden had stepped down in January instead of July we would be in a very different place. The truth is that the Donald was put back in office by a wave of misinformation and a bunch of misogynistic racists who would rather see a convicted felon in charge than a woman of color. Simple.

The bottom line, stupid
I read the letters to the editor every day and contribute letters randomly about conservative thought.
I am not surprised that the left-leaning letters keep coming after the landslide election of Donald Trump. Does the Star realize that the “basketful of deplorables” elected Trump? What does this mean? It means that over 50% of voters chose Trump.
Get over it. We got over Bill, thank you Ross. We got over Obama, thank you John McCain. We got over Joe. Who do we thank, Donald with his bombastic attitude. You got him again. How? Why? The voters have decided the course of the nation will be a conservative one.
The left-leaning “Star” continues to overwhelmingly print left-leaning vitriol letters. Could a 50-50 split of left and right” leaning letters be expected on the opinion page? No! Why? It is the bottom line, stupid.
Who buys the “Star”? Left-leaning liberals buy the Star. It is the bottom line, stupid. The bottom line is a conservative concept. Huh!

Israel, bully of the Middle East
Recently the Arizona Daily Star printed an opinion of the London Guardian’s editorial board. The opinion pointed out how Israel, by its actions, was becoming an outlaw state.
With Trump soon to be in charge of our foreign policy, and judging from his previous actions, we shall allow Israel no restraint in its dealings with the Palestinians and others in the region. At least Biden threatened to stop the flow of arms to Israel to force a cease-fire and bringing Israel’s hostages home. Trump may let Netanyahu deal with this matter without restrictions, resulting in more deaths in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, while Israel confiscates more land, trying to attain a totally Jewish state. Israel becomes the bully of the Middle East, with the U.S. providing money and firepower they request.
Without a control on Israel’s actions, there will never be peace in the region. The incoming administration will not provide necessary restraint.

Peace at the polls
I want to thank all the voters who came to the polling station I worked at and my fellow poll workers for their wonderful behavior on Nov. 5.
Approximately 700 citizens voted, only two raised their voices because they did not have the proper ID or were not registered. Everyone else was polite, courteous, respectful of all in the voting center.
So why does a certain segment of our population seem to think it is ok to threaten, bully or intimidate anyone who holds a different political, social or religious position? We poll workers thanked people for voting, they thanked us for running the voting station. I can assure you the process was secure and efficient. That is the America I know and defended in the USAF.

Buyer’s remorse
Donald Trump has been selected by a majority of voters to be our president for the next four years. I think it is likely that many of these voters will experience “buyer’s remorse” before his term ends.
Global warming: Trump views climate change as a hoax, that burning of fossil fuels does not contribute to the problem. So, there will be no action to slow the warming of the planet – fires, droughts, floods and hurricanes will continue to be more frequent. Many will be sorry.
Inflation: Cutting taxes, deporting millions of workers, and using tariffs to increase government revenues will all be inflationary. Many will be sorry.
Health Insurance: Trump vows to end “Obamacare” and replace it with “something better.” Those voters with pre-existing conditions will be sorry.
There is more, much more, but that will be enough to cause many supporters to experience “buyer’s remorse” before his four-year term closes out.

Impact of aircraft noise on health
I am an emerita professor of physiology specializing in chronic stress and am writing in response to the opinion piece on US Air Force flight proposals and noise from low-altitude training flights. Chicago residents living under the O’Hare flight paths currently experience jet noise in the range of 65 to 110 decibels on a 24/7 basis. The F-35 jets planned for Tucson reach a noise level of 115 dB, according to the FAA Environmental Impact Statement. A study of 6 million older people living near one of 89 airports in the US showed those living in a zip code with 10 dB higher noise exposure had a 3.5% higher hospital admission rate for heart disease. Another study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology indicated that chronic stress associated with repetitive jet noise exposure generates increased blood pressure and other changes leading to inflammation of blood vessels. If you value your health, speak up for keeping the noise down.

It’s never our turn
We just handed the country over to misogynist billionaires. After 55 years of my life (176 years since 1848) of fighting for women’s rights, men still can’t accept women as equals.

Is America another Amsterdam?
Why are you giving SJP airtime? SJP, as recognized by U.S. Congress, is an anti-Israel hate group that receives funding and training from AMP — another anti-Israel hate group with direct ties to terrorists. SJP openly expresses support for Hamas — a U.S.-designated terrorist organization — and systematically threatens Jewish and Israeli students on college campuses. Look what is happening in Amsterdam — you think it will not happen here? It already has. What journalist is going to report this for what it is, evil among us? These are not students, but paid agitators, organized by national hate groups, that are well organized in corrupting our kids. It is not what free speech was intended for. Please report this honestly. We will not remain silent and never will.

Critical responsibilities
What a responsibility teachers and parents have. Children and young people (now more than ever) need to be able to recognize, accept, and celebrate all our many differences.
May our students and children come to understand the ultimate value of kindness toward themselves and others. We adults should work to provide standards for critical reading, critical listening, and critical thinking.
What a responsibility our children have to acknowledge the positive standards set for them by the adults in their worlds. The worthiness of our experience over the next four years depends on it.

Presidential election
It is good to know the Democratic Party believes in the peaceful transfer of power. Question: If Trump had lost again, would he have done the same as the Democratic Party?

Trump Derangement Syndrome
Enough already with the sour grapes, whining and tears. The election is over (praise God), now deal with it. I have heard it all, Trump is going to take away our Social Security, he is going to create internment facilities for Muslims and his political enemies and when that is all done he will declare himself King. let’s talk reality, the Democratic Party performed a coup d’etat against the democratically elected President of the United States of America, there is no disputing that, and then they replaced him with a totally incompetent and ill-prepared Kamala Harris. The reason Trump was elected in an electoral landslide, as well as over 5 million popular votes, was because he brought a message of peace through strength and hope, and putting America first. VP Harris could not articulate a clear message unless it was on a teleprompter, her biggest mistake was saying that she would not have changed anything that was done in the Biden /Harris administration why would anyone want that?

Trump’s America
Way to go, America! You just elected a twice-impeached, insurrectionist, rapist, accused of 34 felony counts, had sex with a porn star while his wife was pregnant, dressed up as a clown at McDonald’s restaurant and drove around pretending to be a garbage man, says he will protect all women whether they like it or not, poised and ready to disrupt millions of immigrant families by deporting them all because you think the price of a dozen eggs is too much. Way to go, America. You should be so proud.

The unvarnished truth
“Stop the Blame” What a great, unvarnished letter to the editor. I am proud to have voted for Vice President Kamala Harris. As the letter writer states so eloquently, her loss was based on misogyny, racism and ignorance and not on all the other factors that the talking heads and the party elites in the Democratic Party have put forth.
Her speech in front of Frederick Douglas Hall was inspiring. During her campaign, she fearlessly faced obstacles and stood up to bullies, haters, and racists. She embraced the challenges presented to her and did not allow setbacks to dictate her narrative.
She was a fierce warrior and champion for what we hold dear in this country. This country was not only not ready for her but did not deserve her. Sadly, we will never elect a woman president with the ingrained attitudes and prejudices that exist. Thank you, “Stop the Blame” letter writer.

Recent election
For the first time in 248 years of U.S. history, we will have a president who is a for-real court-certified felon sending to the Senate names of men and women to be confirmed as federal judges. I find this oddly humorous, but I am not laughing.

Re: Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship
David Jenkins’ national opinion is a welcome conservative voice describing the Arizona Corporation Commission’s wanton disregard of ratepayers at the expense of Arizona monopoly Utilities.
Since when is stewardship a Republican or Democrat issue? For gosh sake it’s one of the major tenets of the Christian faith, Genesis 2:15 — God tells humans to work it and take care of it (the Earth.) This forms the basis for teaching the stewardship of creation. Psalm 8:6 calls upon us to care and manage the world that God created. Oh for sure biblical verses are subject to a myriad of interpretations, but these feel right to me — that we have the responsibility to watch over and protect God’s creations.
Under the current and newly elected ACC, rates have nowhere to go but sky high. Reliance on methane gas and oil and coal, finite resources with prices umbilically tied to world chaos, is a violation of God’s will and an affront to ratepayers who pay while utility profits exceed levels of abomination.

Re: The autopsy
I’ve seen some foolish letters, but “The autopsy” from Nov. 8 is a doozie! For a Trumper to refer to anyone as being incoherent is a laugh, considering their orange hero talks about sharks, Hannibal Lecter and “the weave” (the “weave” is code for utter nonsense) rather than anything substantive. This genius letter calls Kamala Harris a “word butcher” — a woman who mopped the floor with Trump as he ranted about Haitians eating cats and dogs and having “concepts of a plan.” Flip flop? Let’s review Trump’s take on abortion. He picks whatever position serves himself. Name-calling? Trump calls people garbage, scum, vermin, evil and sick, among others. “Much of the voting public” has not been damaged by the last four years — inflation has cooled, stock market soaring, and crime is down. Trump did not “fix” the border, and he won’t now. Certainly anything he does do will be inhumane. If the “loyalists” want a vision of deranged, they should just take a look in the mirror.
