Palo Verde grad Cotton signs multi-year deal

The Utah Jazz last week signed Palo Verde High grad Bryce Cotton to a multiyear contract. The combo point/shooting guard had initially signed two 10-day contracts with Utah. Small-world story about Cotton: He did not have a Division I scholarship offer in August of 2010 and had even been rejected after a visit to Chico State. But when Providence signee Joseph Young, who went on to become the 2015 Pac-12 Player of the Year at Oregon, asked out of his commitment to the Friars, a scholarship opened. Providence gave Young’s scholarship to Cotton, who otherwise probably would’ve enrolled at Pima College.
