Iran has denied reports it sought a meeting with Elon Musk, after a US official said the Iranian ambassador to the UN met the tech tycoon on Monday in an apparent effort to ease tensions with president-elect Donald Trump. Iranโ€™s UN ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani met Mr Musk โ€” a Trump ally named this week to advise his administration on ways to cut the federal government โ€” on Monday in New York, according to a US official briefed on the meeting by a foreign colleague.
