Sahuaro grad Verdugo hits for cycle
Sahuaro High grad Alex Verdugo’s promotion to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga earlier this month hasn’t stopped his production. The lefty-hitting center fielder hit for the cycle Wednesday night, shortly after Baseball America named him the Los Angeles’ Dodgers fifth-best prospect. Verdugo was hitting .317 through Friday and .313 through the first 170 games of his professional career.
