Peach pies, peach fudge, peach-topped pancakes and sweet tree-ripened peaches — it’s all about peaches when Peach Mania starts Saturday, July 22, at Apple Annie’s Orchard in Willcox.
This year’s Peach mania runs July 22-23, 29-30, Aug. 5-6 and 12-13. The weekend of July 29-30 will be the Country Craft Fair weekend with vendors from all over Arizona setting up shop.
Picked at the peak of season, this crop of peaches is the best in recent years, Annie’s owner John Holcomb said in a prepared statement.
“We were fortunate to have a mild spring and had very little frost damage. The trees are loaded.”
The all-you-can-eat peaches and pancakes breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and Apple Annie’s “apple-smoked” burger lunches will be served 11:30 a.m.to 3 p.m. each day of the event.
Apple Annie’s is open daily for picking, with free parking and admission. Take Interstate 10 to Willcox, Exit 340, turn onto Fort Grant Road for 5.5 miles, turn right on Nickles Road and follow the signs. Details at AppleAnnies.com, or call 1-520-384-2084.
A portion of the proceeds from all of Apple Annie’s events are donated to March of Dimes, Lupus Foundation of Southern Arizona and Youth Haven Ranches. In recent years Apple Annie’s has donated more than $95,000.
