After losing out on a couple of cornerbacks, the Arizona Wildcats secured a verbal commitment from one Saturday.
Three-star prospect Tony Wallace announced the news via Twitter. He played at Desert Pines High in Las Vegas – the same school as UA commits Edgar Burrola and Tony Fields. Scout lists Wallace at 5-10, 170 pounds. He also had offers from Colorado and UNLV, according to recruiting website 247Sports.

After the departure of cornerbacks coach Donté Williams earlier this month, four-star athlete Greg Johnson de-committed from Arizona. He likely would have played corner. Additionally, on Friday, four-star cornerback Thomas Graham, who had Arizona among his finalists, committed to Oregon.
Wallace likely will be coached by defensive coordinator Marcel Yates, who announced this week that he is returning to the defensive backfield after coaching linebackers this past season. Arizona has yet to hire a replacement for Williams, but it appears, based on Yates’ announcement, that the new coach will work with the linebackers.
The addition of Wallace gives the Wildcats 23 verbal commitments for the class of 2017. One of those players, junior-college defensive tackle Sione Taufahema, signed with Arizona earlier this week.
