Trey Griffey (5) and Samajie Grant (10) were two of three Arizona Wildcats to earn Pac-12 honorable-mention recognition.

Not surprisingly, no members of the Arizona Wildcats earned first- or second-team All-Pac-12 recognition.

The league announced its annual awards and all-conference teams Tuesday. Arizona, which finished 1-8 in the Pac-12 and 3-9 overall, was the only school to not place anyone on the first or second teams.

Three Wildcats did receive honorable-mention recognition from the league’s coaches: seniors Samajie Grant, Nate Phillips and Trey Griffey.

Grant made it as an all-purpose player. He switched from receiver to tailback in late October and rushed for 461 yards and six touchdowns in five games, including a career-best 176 yards in last week’s season-ending 56-35 victory over Arizona State. Grant also caught 22 passes for 247 yards and three scores.

Phillips led Arizona in receiving with 33 catches for 414 yards and two touchdowns. He ended his college career with at least one catch in 45 consecutive games.

Griffey finished with 23 catches for 382 and two TDs. He did draw several pass-interference penalties and excelled as a blocker. Also, 16 of his catches went for first downs or touchdowns.

All of Arizona’s receivers fell victim to a passing offense that never clicked consistently. The Wildcats finished the regular season 10th in the conference in passing yards per game (178.1) and tied for last in passing touchdowns (13). Arizona ended up leading the league in rushing (235.0 ypg).
