Bobby Dalbec will start for Arizona in the 2016 College World Series finale against Coastal Carolina at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

OMAHA, Neb. – Arizona coach Jay Johnson decided to stick with Bobby Dalbec in the postponed College World Series finale today.

Coastal Carolina coach Gary Gilmore took advantage of the extra day’s rest and is starting his ace, Andrew Beckwith.

Gilmore had another junior right-hander, Alex Cunningham, penciled in Wenesday night. But with an extra 17 hours, Gilmore switched to Beckwith, who is 14-1 with a 1.94 ERA.

The game will start at 10:08 a.m., Tucson time, and will be televised by ESPNU. It also can be streamed via WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

Beckwith has pitched two complete games in the College World Series, including a 138-pitch, 4-1 victory over TCU on Friday.

Beckwith is a side-arming right-hander, and Arizona’s lineup is stocked with left-handed hitting batters:

  1. 2B Cody Ramer-L
  2. RF Zach Gibbons-R
  3. 1B Ryan Aguilar-L
  4. C Cesar Salazar-L
  5. DH JJ Matijevic-L
  6. 3B Kyle Lewis-R
  7. LF Alfonso Rivas III-L
  8. CF Jared Oliva-R
  9. SS Louis Boyd-R

The lineup is the same one Johnson submitted Wednesday. Worth noting: Aguilar moves back to the No. 3 hole after batting fourth Tuesday night. … Salazar moves up from sixth to fourth. … Matijevic drops from third to fifth. … Kyle Lewis starts at third with Dalbec pitching. … Rivas returns to the lineup after sitting out Tuesday.

Dalbec will be pitching on four days’ rest. He threw 102 pitches in Arizona’s 5-1, bracket-clinching victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. The junior is 11-5 with a 2.65 ERA.
