The Arizona Wildcats' 2021 season-opening tournament in Austin, Texas, has been canceled due to weather.

The Austin, Texas area is under a winter storm warning until midnight tonight. Forecasts call for rain and significant ice.

The UA announced Thursday morning that the day's game against No. 6 had been was postponed. By noon, the entire tournament had been canceled.

Arizona was in Austin for the Texas Classic β€” a season-opening showcase that had included Texas, No. 8 Alabama, and others.Β 

Now, the Cats will return home to Tucson and prepare for next weekend's Hillenbrand Invitational. The first game is set for Feb. 19 against New Mexico.
