For the third year in a row, an Arizona hurler has earned the baseball's season's first Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week award.

Left-hander Jackson Kent received the honor Monday after shutting down then-No. 23 Northeastern in his first career opening-day start Friday.

Kent, a redshirt sophomore, allowed one run on four hits in six innings. He struck out a career-high eight batters.

Arizona's TJ Nichols was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week in Week 1 last year. Current fifth-year senior Dawson Netz earned that same accolade in 2022.

The Wildcats conclude their season-opening four-game homestand Tuesday vs. Utah Tech. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.

The team will hold an autograph session after the game as a makeup for the "Meet the Team" preseason scrimmage that was canceled because of inclement weather.

Fans who purchased tickets for the scrimmage can exchange them for tickets to a regular-season game.
