LAFAYETTE, La. – Arizona’s NCAA regional game against host Louisiana Lafayette has been postponed and rescheduled for Sunday because of thunderstorms in and around the area.

The teams are now scheduled to play Sunday at 11 a.m., Tucson-time, the loser playing again at 5 p.m. against the winner of Saturday night's elimination game between Sam Houston State and Princeton.

The winner of the Arizona-ULL game will advance to Monday, where the possibility of a doubleheader exists. Teams will play at 11 a.m., Tucson time, with a winner-take-all game to follow if necessary.Β

The No. 2 seed Wildcats and No. 1 seed Ragin’ Cajuns were slated to play at 5 p.m., Tucson time, but inclement weather that began early Saturday afternoon pushed back the schedule.

Arizona defeated No. 3 seed Sam Houston State 7-3 in the rain-delayed regional opener Friday. Louisiana Lafayette rallied to beat Princeton 5-3.

The loser of the Sam Houston State-Princeton game will be eliminated.
