Another Arizona Wildcat has come off the board in the 2018 MLB draft.
Outfielder Cal Stevenson became the sixth UA player selected Tuesday when the Toronto Blue Jays picked him in the 10th round, No. 296 overall.
Stevenson played through a hand injury as a senior. He batted .293 with a .416 on-base percentage and a 35-16 walk-to-strikeout ratio. He led the Wildcats with eight stolen bases and made only one error in 120 chances in center field.

The World Series champions have selected another Arizona Wildcat.
The Houston Astros took UA catcher Cesar Salazar in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB draft Tuesday.

Two rounds earlier, the Astros selected Arizona pitcher Cody Deason. A year ago, they used a Day 1 pick on UA first baseman-outfielder JJ Matijevic.
Salazar hit .339 this season with four home runs and 42 RBIs β all career highs. But Salazarβs greatest attributes are his defense, leadership and ability to handle a pitching staff.
Salazar, who played at Sahuaro High School, posted a .991 fielding percentage this season. He threw out 16 of 28 would-be base stealers.
Salazar became the fourth Arizona player to be drafted Tuesday, and another followed soon after. The New York Mets selected right-hander Tylor Megill in Round 8.
Megill was up and down during his two seasons at Arizona. He finished this year with a 4.73 ERA and six saves, striking out 38 batters in 32 1/3 innings. Megill is listed at 6-foot-6 and can throw his fastball in the mid-90s.

Megillβs selection gave Arizona five picks in as many rounds. First baseman-outfielder Alfonso Rivas III went to Oakland in the fourth round; pitcher Michael Flynn went to Pittsburgh in the sixth.
Weβll have additional updates on UA draft picks throughout the day.
Make that two Arizona Wildcats right-handers in a 12-pick span.
The Pittsburgh Pirates selected UA pitcher Michael Flynn in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB draft Tuesday. Flynn came off the board with the 174th pick. His college teammate, Cody Deason, went 162nd to the Houston Astros.
Serving as the Wildcatsβ No. 2 starter for most of the season, Flynn posted a 6-5 record with a 4.89 ERA. He struck out 72 batters in 73 2/3 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .242 average.

Flynn, listed by Arizona at 6-3, 210 pounds, was one of the best athletes on the team. Evaluators have touted his upside.
Flynn is the third UA player to be picked today, joining Deason and first baseman-outfielder Alfonso Rivas III, who went to the Oakland Athletics in the fourth round.
The draft will run through Round 10 today. It will conclude with Rounds 11-40 Wednesday.
The second Arizona Wildcat has come off the board in the 2018 MLB draft.
The World Series champion Houston Astros have selected UA right-hander Cody Deason with the third-to-last pick of the fifth round, No. 162 overall.
Deason – ranked as the No. 113 prospect by Baseball America and No. 125 by MLB.com – went a little later than expected but within the range of most projections.
Congrats to Cody Deason! The righty is picked by the @astros in the 5th round with the 162nd overall pick!#BearDown | #MLBTrainingGround pic.twitter.com/tGf25gkRVW

Deason was Arizonaβs No. 1 starter this season. He finished 6-5 with a 2.87 ERA. He allowed 70 hits and struck out 84 batters in 91 innings while limiting opponents to a .216 average.
Deason began his UA career as a reliever and pitched effectively out of the bullpen in the Cape Cod League last year, posting a 1.01 ERA in 26 2/3 innings. An area scout for an MLB team told the Star that the hard-throwing Deason likely projects as a reliever in pro baseball.
Deasonβs UA teammate, Alfonso Rivas III, was picked in the fourth round earlier Tuesday.
The Astros selected Arizonaβs JJ Matijevic on Day 1 of last yearβs MLB draft.
Cody Deason fits the up-in-the-zone fastball, complimentary breaking ball template seen throughout Houston's system.

Arizona Wildcats first baseman-outfielder Alfonso Rivas III was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB draft Tuesday.
Rivas became the first of several Wildcats expected to be picked today (Rounds 3-10) and Wednesday (11-40) when the Aβs snared him with the 113th pick.
Off the board! Congrats to Alfonso Rivas, who is selected in the 4th round with the 113th overall pick by the @Athletics!#BearDown | #MLBTrainingGround pic.twitter.com/WXNrBUWUrX
— Arizona Baseball (@ArizonaBaseball) June 5, 2018
Rivas, a three-year starter for Arizona, batted .342 this season with seven home runs and 52 RBIs. The left-handed hitter was even better as a sophomore in 2017, hitting .371 with seven homers and 63 RBIs.
Rivas played first base this season after serving as Arizonaβs primary left fielder last year. He mainly played DH as a freshman. He projects as a corner outfielder or first baseman.
The #Athletics take Alfonso Rivas of @ArizonaBaseball in the fourth round. One of the sweetest lefthanded swings in the draft β heβs gonna be a doubles machine, but Iβve seen him put a charge into balls too. Think the power is coming. I think heβs athletic enough to play OF too.

MLB.com had Rivas as its 132nd-ranked prospect; he exceeded that projection by 19 slots. Baseball America ranked Rivas 123rd.
Two UA signees, left-hander Matthew Liberatore and corner infielder Nolan Gorman, were picked in the first round Monday. They are not expected to attend Arizona.
