LUBBOCK, Texas — Junior left-hander Cameron Ming will start for the Arizona Wildcats in an elimination game against Delaware in the Lubbock Regional today. First pitch at Rip Griffin Park is slated for a little after noon Tucson time.
No. 2 seed Arizona fell into the losers’ bracket after dropping a 5-4 decision to Sam Houston State in a rain-delayed game Friday night. No. 4 seed Delaware lost to host Texas Tech 5-2 earlier Friday.
Ming is 7-2 with 2.70 ERA. Opponents are hitting .247 against him.
Ming will oppose junior right-hander Nick Spadafino, who is 7-3 with a 4.67 ERA.
The Blue Hens have eight right-handed hitters in their lineup, and eight of their starters are hitting better than .300.
Arizona is starting the same nine as Friday but in a slightly different order:
