It took eight games for Philadelphia Phillies second baseman and former Arizona Wildcat Scott Kingery to go yard, but on Monday, he did just that.
In the bottom of the second inning on a 0-1 count against the Cincinnati Reds, Kingery sent one to the left field wall for his first career home run.ย ย

In March, Philadelphia's second-round pick signed a six-year contract with the Phillies, which runs through 2023 with $24 million guaranteed. Kingery's contract made him the highest paid player in history that never debuted in a MLB game. Since signing his contract, Kingery has been with the Phillies since Opening Day.ย
Kingery has batted .280 this season on 25 at bats along with seven hits and two RBIs. The Phillies are 3-5 this season and sit half a game out of last place in the NL East.ย
