PULLMAN, Wash. -- Arizona guard Kadeem Allen will not play against Washington State tonight after dislocating the pinky finger on his right (shooting) hand in practice earlier this week, UA spokesman Matt Ensor confirmed today.
Allen made the trip with the Wildcats to Washington State and is status is day-to-day, with a slight chance of playing Saturday against Washington. Junior Parker Jackson-Cartwright will start in his place.
Allen suffered the injury when his finger caught in Jackson-Cartwright's jersey during practice Tuesday, according to UA athletic trainer Justin Kokoskie.
"The joint popped out and we had to get it reset," Kokoskie said.
Former Wildcat standout Derrick Williams didn't miss any games after injuring his pinky in 2010-11. Williams suffered a fracture that could simply be padded, while Allen's dislocation can not yet take any substantial pressure while he is dribbling or shooting.
