CORVALLIS, Ore. – Arizona’s Lauri Markkanen was named one of 10 finalists for the Karl Malone Award, honoring college basketball's top power forward.

The award run by the Basketball Hall of Fame also named UCLA’s T.J. Leaf and Cal’s Ivan Rabb out of the Pac-12.

Other finalists included: Baylor’s Johnathan Motley, Memphis’ Dedric Lawson, Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, Notre Dame’s Bonzie Colson, Pittsburgh’s Michael Young, Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan and Valparaiso’s Alec Peters.

With all the buzz over football signing date – and RichRod’s recovery – there's some basketball recruiting news: Rivals says Brian Bowen may be the next major 2017 prospect to commit, and Arizona appears to remain in a battle with Michigan State and maybe Creighton. (The 24/7 Crystal Ball has it 65 percent for MSU).

Rivals also had an update on 2018 four-star guard Quentin Grimes of Texas, who visited Arizona for its Red-Blue Game.

We had a look back at the history of Oregon State’s success over Arizona at Gill Coliseum, along with a scouting report.

Willie Taggart is still the big story here in Oregon, but the Oregonian had a preview of tonight's UA-OSU game.

Bennie Boatwright made an immediate difference for USC in his return from a sprained knee.

Here's the school-produced notes from Arizona and OSU.

The updated stats and UA-UW box score are attached to this post, if you missed them.
