Arizona's Sean Miller was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the third time while freshman Lauri Markkanen was named to the conference’s 10-man all league team when the Pac-12 announced its annual awards this afternoon.

Arizona’s Allonzo Trier and Kadeem Allen made the five-man second team, while Allen was named to the Pac-12’s all-defensive team. Trier is Arizona's leading scorer but missed 19 games (eight in Pac-12 play) with a suspension for a positive PED test.

Of the other major awards, Oregon’s Dillon Brooks was named Player of the Year, UCLA’s Lonzo Ball was named Freshman of the Year and Oregon’s Jordan Bell was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Markkanen and Rawle Alkins were named to the Pac-12’s five-man all freshman team, a talented group that also includes Ball, Markkanen, Washington's Markelle Fultz and UCLA's T.J. Leaf.

The Pac-12 Coach of the Year award earns Miller a bonus of $20,000. Miller was also given the honor in 2011 and 2014, both years in which the Wildcats won the Pac-12 and went on to reach the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.
