USA’s Nik Khamenia handles the ball against Brazil during a FIBA U18 AmeriCup game on June 5 in Buenos Aires. Khamenia hasn’t thought much about recruiting yet, but many top programs, including Arizona, are courting him.

Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd has offered a scholarship to one of the top players on his USA Basketball U18 team, four star 2025 forward Nik Khamenia of Southern California.

A 6-7 forward for Harvard-Westlake High School in Studio City, Calif., Khamenia averaged 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 38.5% from 3-point range in USA's six-game run to the gold medal in the FIBA U18 AmeriCup at Buenos Aires, Argentina, earlier this month.

Khamenia is also expected to be on display in front of UA and other college coaches this weekend at the Section 7 event at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, where many of the West's top high school and prep school teams will play. Harvard Westlake is scheduled to begin the tournament against Timpview of Provo, Utah at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

While UA target Koa Peat of Gilbert Perry High School is preparing to play for USA's U17 team in the U17 World Cup this weekend, several other UA recruiting targets are expected at Section 7, including 2025 forward Tounde Yessoufou of Santa Maria, Calif., 2026 forward Cameron Holmes of Goodyear Millennium and 2025 guard Brayden Burries of Riverside, Calif.
