Arizona will return to the Wooden Legacy multi-team event in Orange County next season, UA basketball operations director Ryan Reynolds confirmed Tuesday.
Jon Rothstein first reported that the event will also include Providence, Wake Forest, UCF, Charleston, Penn, Long Beach State and Pepperdine.
Arizona lost to Providence in the 2015 event, a day after center Kaleb Tarczewski was hurt in an overtime win over Santa Clara. The Wildcats then beat Boise State in their final Wooden game that season.
The event will include a home game against one of the competing schools, then three bracketed games in Orange County. In 2015, Arizona hosted Boise State at McKale Center and then, after its loss to Providence, played the Broncos in the final game at Anaheim.
While the 2015 event featured two bracketed games at Fullerton and a final bracketed game at Anaheim, the exact location is not yet set for next season. It will continue to be played in Orange County, however.
Four-star guard Terry Armstrong will announce his college decision Wednesday, Bella Vista coach Kyle Weaver confirmed. (Stockrisers first reported this).
Armstrong is expected to choose Arizona according to the majority of analysts weighing in on 247's Crystal Ball. He's also considering New Mexico and Oklahoma.
A commitment from Armstrong would give Arizona three guards, including Josh Green and Nico Mannion, in the class of 2019 along with center Christian Koloko and grad transfer forward Stone Gettings.
UA coach Sean Miller said earlier this month he is aiming to add five or six total players in the class, since's UA's recruiting classes are always about that size. The Wildcats will have four scholarship openings for 2019-20, five if forward Jake DesJardins returns to walk-on status, plus any that open up from early spring departures.
Duke freshman R.J. Barrett, once a UA recruiting target, joins Luke Maye, Carsen Edwards, Ethan Happ, Caleb Martin and Dedric Lawsom on the Associated Press' preseason All-American team.
