Ja'Quez Harvey

Three-star Los Angeles defensive end Ja'Quez Harvey decommitted from the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday.

Arizona lost a member of its 2021 football recruiting class on Thursday, when three-star Los Angeles defensive end Ja'Quez Harvey announced that he will open his recruitment.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 245-pound Harvey posted his decommitment on Twitter.

Harvey also holds offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, Washington State, Kansas, Fresno State and UNLV.

Harvey's decommitment trims Arizona's defensive-heavy '21 class to 22 players. The Wildcats have three defensive line commits for '21: Houston defensive end Kevon Garcia, New Orleans defensive end Ja'Marian Peterson, Riverside Community College defensive end Alex Navarro-Silva and San Francisco defensive tackle Evan Branch-Haynes.

Arizona center Josh McCauley, linebacker Issaiah Johnson and cornerback Lorenzo Burns held a press conference on Tuesday, as the Wildcats (0-3) prepare to host Colorado (3-0) this Saturday at Arizona Stadium.

The Division I early signing period is slated for Dec. 16.
