The Arizona Wildcats football team struggled on the field last season, and the latest data from the NCAA does not paint the program in a positive light academically either.

The NCAA released its latest four-year Academic Progress Rates on Wednesday, and Arizona ranks last in the Pac-12 with a score of 955.

However, it should be noted that the Wildcats had an APR of 971 for 2015-16, their second-highest mark of the past four academic years. Additionally, 18 current or former football players are scheduled to be honored during the UA’s Student-Athlete Convocation on Thursday morning. Those student-athletes either have received their degrees already or are scheduled to sometime this year.

Here’s how Pac-12 football programs stack up in APR for the last four academic years:

  • Stanford 985
  • Washington 984
  • Utah 983
  • Cal 978
  • Oregon 974
  • Arizona State 971
  • UCLA 971
  • Colorado 968
  • USC 968
  • Washington State 964
  • Oregon State 956
  • Β Arizona 955

USA Today reported that Arizona's multiyear score will result in UA coach Rich Rodriguez receiving a $25,000 bonus.Β

Former Arizona defensive end Jalen Cochran is transferring to Miami (Ohio).

Cochran, who redshirted as a freshman last season, announced his intention to transfer earlier this month. Miami had been one of Cochran’s finalists coming out of high school. It’s much closer to home for the native of Plymouth, Michigan.

Cochran did not play for Arizona last season and missed most of spring practice because of concussion-related issues.
