The Arizona Wildcats are scheduled to report for training camp July 30 and begin practicing for the 2017 season the next day.

The reporting and start dates are a little earlier than in recent years because of a new NCAA rule abolishing two-a-day practices.

Arizona’s β€œmedia day” – the first opportunity for media to speak to newcomers – is scheduled for Aug. 19.

The team will visit Fort Huachuca during camp but is not scheduled to work out at the base.

The start of training camp comes just a few days after Pac-12 Media Days, which are July 26-27 in Hollywood, California.

Arizona opens the season Sept. 2 against Northern Arizona. Some teams that start earlier, such as Arizona State, are starting training camp before Pac-12 Media Days. The Sun Devils are set to open camp July 25. Their first game is against New Mexico State on Aug. 31.

Arizona’s complete training-camp schedule will be available at a later date. Kickoff times and TV assignments for some games should be released soon.
