The Arizona Wildcats defeated Oregon State 49-28 Saturday night at Arizona Stadium. Here are some pertinent notes, quotes and statistics:
NOTES
* Arizona has scored 35 or more points in six straight games, the longest streak by a Power Five school this season
* Arizona rushed for 534 yards, setting a new school record. The previous mark was 511 yards, set last season against Arizona State.
* The Wildcats have rushed for more than 500 yards twice this season, for more than 400 twice, for more than 300 three times and for more than 200 twice. Houston limited Arizona to a season-low 152 yards in Week 2.
* Arizona attempted only one pass in the second half. The Wildcats punted only once. Every Oregon State possession in the first half ended in a punt.
* Sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate rushed for 206 yards, his third 200-plus-yard performance in the past six weeks. That total ties Tate with Trung Canidate for second most in school history. Ka’Deem Carey owns the record with four 200-yard games. Tate’s has 1,293 rushing yards, the seventh-highest single-season total in school history.
* Running backs J.J. Taylor (129 yards) and Nick Wilson (101) both rushed for more than 100 yards. Along with Tate, they gave Arizona three 100-yard rushers for the second time under Rich Rodriguez. The first? Last year’s Territorial Cup.
* Receiver Tony Ellison scored on a 27-yard end-around late in the second quarter. Ten different Wildcats have at least one rushing touchdown this season, the most since at least 1997. Arizona has 41 rushing touchdowns, the most by the Wildcats in the Pac-10/Pac-12 era. The previous mark was 36 set in 2014.
* Defensive tackle Dereck Boles set a career high with seven tackles, including his first solo tackle for loss. Linebacker Colin Schooler was credited with a career-high three TFLs, including two sacks. Arizona’s 10 TFLs were its most since registering 10 against Northern Arizona in 2015.
* Redshirt-freshman CB Lorenzo Burns collected his team-leading fourth interception. That’s the most by an Arizona player in a season since Tra’Mayne Bondurant also had four in 2013.
QUOTES
Rodriguez on the win: “I’m just really and happy and proud for our seniors. They are a great class and great group of young men. They have a given a lot to this program, and I hope this is a night they remember for the rest of their lives. … I thought the first half may have been the best half we played all year. The guys were really focused and played well in all three phases and answered some things in the second half.”
Rodriguez on visiting Oregon next week: “We’ve gotta correct some things, the mistakes. They’re an explosive team. I’ve watched a little bit of them against some of our opponents so far. They’ve got guys who can run. It’s a tough environment. So we’ll have to keep our poise. It’s a big week. Our guys have stayed focused all year. I wouldn’t expect this to be any different.”
OG Jacob Alsadek on Senior Night: “Surreal. If I could stay here forever, I definitely would do it. I feel like this has become so much of my life. I just don’t want it to end. It’s a weird feeling. People bring it up: It’s your last time doing this, this and this. It started weighing on me. Just happy to be where we’re at right now and looking forward to these next three games, putting us in the best possible place we can be.”
Taylor on Wilson rushing for 101 yards in his home finale: “The running backs were all happy for Nick, for him to get that hundred. We were pushing him to get that. He ended up getting it. We were all proud of him, happy. In the locker room, we were all cheering for him.”
Tate on his 19-yard, tackle-breaking TD run: “It was a run play. I kept the ball. A defender got in the way. I tried to maneuver past him. And then I had to just use my determination to get in the end zone.”
Schooler on the defense’s performance: “The first half I thought we played pretty sound. We came out pretty slow the second half. As a defense, I don’t think we’ve played a full game of what we think we’re capable of.”

* Arizona had 602 total yards; Oregon State had 360.
* Arizona averaged 9.7 yards per play; OSU averaged 5.3.
* OSU ran 68 plays and possessed the ball for 33:49; Arizona had it for 62 plays and 26:11.
