SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Observations from warmups before the Foster Farms Bowl between the Arizona Wildcats and Purdue Boilermakers at Levi’s Stadium:
* Senior defensive tackle Parker Zellers is not playing because of a violation of team rules. Zellers, a regular in the rotation, did not travel with the team to San Francisco. Zellers also missed Arizona’s next-to-last regular-season game, at Oregon, because of what was termed a violation of team rules. It’s an ignominious end to Zellers’ college career.
* It appears that redshirt junior Trevor Wood will make his first career start at defensive end. Wood recently switched to defense after playing tight end for most of his UA career. Justin Belknap, who started the first 11 games before suffering a knee injury at Oregon, is suited up and will rotate with Wood.
* Jake Glatting will handle the punting for Arizona tonight. The punting unit went back to basics during pre-bowl practices after operational issues arose vs. USC and Arizona State.
* It does not appear that this game will be well attended:
