The Wildcats lost their Pac-12 opener 30-24 to No. 23 Utah Friday and fell to 2-2. Arizona lost its third consecutive conference opener and five turnovers including four from quarterback Brandon Dawkins cost the Cats down the stretch.

1. Mistakes were made, but the Cats were competitive
UpdatedRich Rodriguez said turnovers cost Arizona, and the Wildcats' mistakes on offense are easily fixable. Rodriguez said the team could still compete for the Pac-12 South.

2. Dawkins missing Trevor Wood for TD, defense taking steps forward
UpdatedArizona was facing fourth down deep in Utah territory Friday night when Brandon Dawkins threw an incomplete pass to Devaughn Cooper.Dawkins missed tight end Trevor Wood, who was wide open down the field without a defender within six or seven yards of him.
